Case study
Bubble Bliss

A colourful bubble shooter set in a relaxing tropical world.
Match and pop bubbles, fire boosters, build combos and clear the board before time runs out. We designed the art, the interface and the game itself, and built it all in Unity.

Calm to look at. Hard to put down.
Bubble shooters are a crowded genre, so Bubble Bliss had to stand out in two ways at once: an art style that feels like a holiday, and a timed format that gives every round real tension.
We paired a soft sunset palette with bright, glossy bubbles. The world stays quiet in the background, so the board is always the loudest thing on screen.
Artwork
Six bubbles, six symbols
Every colour carries its own symbol. That keeps the board readable on a small screen and makes the game playable for colour-blind players, without losing the candy-glass look.

Boosters with personality
Power-ups are drawn chunkier and bolder than the bubbles, so players spot them the moment they appear in the launcher.

Gameplay
Two minutes of pure flow
Each round runs against the clock. The score, timer and rows left are always in view, and the board keeps the beach backdrop visible underneath.

Built in Unity
Bubble shooters live or die on how the shot feels. These are the systems we built to make it feel right.
Hex-grid board
Bubbles sit on an offset hexagonal grid, so every shot snaps cleanly into place and neighbours are fast to look up.
Aim and bounce
A live aim line traces the shot, including wall bounces, so players can line up bank shots before they let go.
Match and drop
Groups of three or more pop, and any bubbles left hanging fall away, which is where the big scores come from.
Combo engine
Consecutive matches build a combo multiplier, with score pop-ups and “Amazing!” call-outs that reward a hot streak.
Timed rounds
A countdown clock, live score and rows counter keep every round tense, short and easy to replay.
Game feel
Pooled particle bursts, confetti and soft screen feedback make each pop satisfying without slowing the game down.
From sketch to store
- 01
Concept and art direction
We set the mood first: a calm tropical sunset, so the board can be busy while the world stays relaxing.
- 02
Asset production
Logo, bubbles, boosters, backgrounds and UI were painted in-house in a single glossy, candy-like style.
- 03
Unity build
The board, shooting, matching, combos, timer and boosters were built in Unity and tested on real devices.
- 04
Polish and juice
Particles, call-outs and animation timing were tuned until every match felt rewarding.
